First Chapter Review: Requiem for a Rescue Dog Queen by M. K. Scott
I received the first chapter of Requiem for a Rescue Dog Queen by M. K. Scott for review.
BLURB: Pre-school teacher turned private eye Nala Bonne, and her opinionated dog, Max, have a nose for evil doings in Circle City. They’ve recently gone to the dogs, make that rescue dogs. Not everyone in Indianapolis has a soft spot for a homeless pup. Someone has it out for the dogs and the people who love them. A midnight call jolts Nala and Max into action as they rush to the aid of a local rescue dog queen, but it may already be too late.
COVER: Love the colors on this one. The series logo is cute. Definitely a cover that catches the eye.
FIRST CHAPTER: A late night phone call from Nala's friend has her racing off with her talking canine companion, Max, to an out-of-the-way dog shelter that is being targeted.
KEEP READING: Sure. I love dogs and I love mysteries, so what's not to like about this novel? I have to admit a talking dog takes a bit of getting used to for me. Not that it hasn't been done before, but it's just weird. Great banter between Nala and her canine companion. The first chapter builds the tension for what might lie ahead. Looks like it is going to be a fun read.

Thanks for hosting Max and Nala.
ReplyDeleteBehind every good private-eye is an opinionated dog (smile!).
